It is not about playing Santa-Claus
Lately, an interesting article was published in Philantrophy News Digest. It was about the third-richest man in the world; Carlos Slim Helú. He believes that “businessmen can do more good by building solid companies than by acting philanthropically”.
So what about Gates and Buffett in this area? Slim argues: “Our concept is more to accomplish and solve things, rather than giving — that is, not going around like Santa Claus”…
He continues “This is in line with our thinking, though I am not stating that Gates and Buffett should stop their philanthropically behaviour towards less fortunate people”…
Totally agree Slim, but maybe you could inspire your loaded fellows to take a closer look at development in a new perspective!?
